Are XFA forms supported?
If a PDF form is created with e.g. Adobe LiveCycle Designer the resulting PDF form is not a normal AcroForm but a mix of XML and AcroForm or only a XML package. These forms are called XFA forms.
Beginning with version 2.5 the SetaPDF-FormFiller component is able to handle XFA forms.
The limitations of an static XFA form are:
- Picture clauses are not supported for input nor ouput formatting. The values passed to the field instances are used in the AcroForm representation as they were passed - no formatting is done.
The limitations of an dynamic XFA form are:
- The fields are not accessable through the fields object. There's no AcroForm representation of the form fields available.
- The form data can only be passed by the SetaPDF_FormFiller_Xfa::setData() method.
- Form fields cannot be flattened.
